Gender discrimination suit against California city settled


A former California city manager has settled a lawsuit with her former employer. The woman sued the city claiming that the city had participated in workplace discrimination. According to the woman, she was paid significantly less than the male city manager before her. She claims she was even asked to take pay cuts when she was entitled to pay raises.

California man sues Oracle over wrongful termination


A Californian man has sued his former employer -- Oracle -- for wrongful termination. The man claims that he was fired after he questioned why one of his employees was to make significantly less money than other employees on the man's team. According to reports, the man had a successful career with the company and had won awards.

California workers can bring pay and benefit suits


California employees generally go to work to support themselves and their families. In exchange for their hard work, employees expect to be compensated. California and federal employment laws include minimum wage laws that define how little an employee can make per hour.

Sexual harassment training required in California city

California workers should never have to go to work and face a hostile work environment created by someone's inappropriate sexual comments, jokes or harassing behavior. Even if the behavior does not cross the line to sexual assault, workers still have employment law protections against unwanted sexual advances and other sexual harassment.
